Where children once played,
now rats, rubble and lizards
infest every room.

Tis so very sad
memories man’s pleasures past
nature recycled
..
In the end, everything gets recycled, doesn’t it, Jim?
Some children love to play in places like this.
I suppose they do, but did you see all that broken glass littering the floor?
Wistful is what I feel after reading this. What brought this place to this plight? Where are the children? I really enjoyed this.
ehhw, sad.
Everything gets old and used up. Great words and image.

All things change, this is a wonderful take on the prompt.
Great haiku. I played in an abandoned chicken coop that looked much like this when I was a kid. I stepped on a nail, which is why I don’t forget it.
