Shadow Shot Saturday: Quirky Turkeys
Three quirky, lurking turkeys
Under the shade of a tree;
Three quirky, lurking turkeys—
No place they would rather be;
Three quirky, lurking turkeys,
Taking a break from the sun;
Three quirky, lurking turkeys
Can’t wait till the day is done!

Those quirky, lurking turkeys are smart to stay in the shade.

I hope you weren’t eyeing them up for Thanksgiving. That really would be quirky.
‘Quirky’ is being polite here. I think the ‘arrogant’ can define these birds equally well. In CT, you see these birds alongside the Route 15 Parkway, stepping onto the shoulders taunting the drivers to hit them or crash avoiding them. Sweet they aren’t…and to think that Ben Franklin wanted the turkey to be the national bird…
I love the incongruity of the temperate fowl amid the tropical vegetation.
Turkey (country) and turkey (bird) …do they mean the same?
Cool shadows.
Soon they will be dinner.
Those quirky turkeys are trying to find a place to avoid Thanksgiving! Don’t blame them a bit! Fun post/shadows for the day! Enjoy your weekend!

Even quirky ones needs to chillax! Have a great SS…

Peace.
Ha…that was great fun..wonderful photo and rhyme! I tried to read the poem aloud quickly a couple of times, but failed miserably in my tongue-twisting attempt…:)
We don’t get turkeys in the wild here – just farmed ones for Christmas!!
Could not help but smile over this child-like rhyme.
I stumbled upon your lovely blog and wanted to tell you about a project that I have going on over at my Blog. The Happiness Project is a Tuesday blog hop that I host. All you have to do is post a photo of something that makes you happy, it’s that simple. I’m trying to take over the blogosphere with happiness!
Here is a link to last week’s post if you would like to check it out.

Great shot, especially considering the dappled lighting.
