Sylvia
His eyes avert to heaven, the ultimate conclusion of his journey. Of course, he gets there via the Sonoran abbey. He seems to pleasantly envision the future…
Beautiful shadow
Sun shines on a saint
As heaven opens its gates
He looks happy to be spending eternity in the sun!!
He casts a lovely shadow, whoever he is!

St. Francis
His mother did pray
For his conversion some day
Miracle indeed!
what a perfect shadow!
Love this atmospheric scene! The shadow of the stature in this lovely light creates a serenity echoed by the touch of the white cross on the hill behind!
Great shadow!! I love your little poem too
Beautiful shadow shot, so crisp and clear.
It looks so peaceful, lovely shadow.
Whoever he is he sure does cast a lovely shadow! Enjoy the rest of your weekend
Great shot and such a gentle saint in shadow.
I can’t say why as I don’t know the answer, but I have recently become engaged by the saints, their portraits, paintings and statues. I like this one a lot. And I like the monikers you mention. Maybe it’s Saint Cement. And I noticed that speck of white in the corner, the cross on the hill, denoting it might be a place where saints are held captive!
Avast ye matey, bring peace to yerself today. Aurggggggh!
Saints held captive? God forbid!
The classical music I’m listening right now suits well with that picture…
Perfect shot with fantastic quote make your post perfect. Can’t ask for more.
LOVELY, indeed, maam! Job well done.
Happy SS to you & enjoy the rest of the day.

gray eyes closed, meditating

Dr. Who? Sounds like a Dr. Seuss story… or perhaps a James Bond character ? – ha! We agree with Paula…looks like St. Francis to us – however we love his shadow

Your words bring a chuckle.
They were meant to. I’m glad you caught the humor!
Excellent shadow shot and I like the haiku accompanying it!
