I think you are right.
Part of that great cloud of witnesses.
This portico is long enough so that spirits, current and from the past, have the space and time needed for reflection and wonder. Interspersed with sun and shadow, we move along hopefully understanding life’s meanings as we amble…
Beautiful shadow shot and the perfect words — I can almost hear them chanting! Wonderful shadows! Have a wonderful start to your new year and may it be filled with much love and laughter. Thank you for your visits to my blog and your kind comments throughout the year!

beautiful haiku along with the photo – I love this. I’m wondering what their shoes sounded like on the stones.
The Haiku fits this photo perfectly!
Do you feel them as you walk in their footsteps? I certainly do.
An evocative shot.

Oh, Brother, where do
You go? On my quest, I must
Go to the Stoa.
Punny man!
Lovely walkway with shadows. Peaceful, I think.

I can hear the chant as I walk with the friars.
This looks like a beautiful place to go to seek solitude and reflect..I like the perspective of the long walkway. Lovely shot.
Happy New Year, MMT!
Your photo and words are wonderful. Certainly does seem to carry the ghosts of friars past.
Haunting photo, with a story, told with a haiku, to go with it. I like this!
