Sheep, You Give Us Joy

Photobucket

Sheep, you give us joy!
As you share your wool and flesh,
we are warm and full.

We are warm and full—
no winter winds can slay us,
clad and fed by you.

Clad and fed by you,
who needs any other wealth?
Sheep, you give us joy!

  1. I like this piece very much. It strikes a chord regarding sometimes unappreciated abundance.

  2. There is a goddess in the Egyptian pantheon called Satis. . . a goddess of abundance and satisfaction, “enough.” This is an homage to her.

  3. A beautiful dedication to sheep…:) But feel sad for those poor animals….coz, they are killed :(
