Three for Wednesday

original

Words do not fail me,
but sometimes emotion does—
wilderness of soul.

~~ ~~ ~~

Choruses of birds—
I falter at their singing
each redundant note.

~~ ~~ ~~

Three writhing green snakes—
in reaching out to touch one,
my fingers tremble.

  1. MMT, every time I read your work, I feel at a loss of words. Each haiku is a treat to read. Keep writing! :)

  2. Lovely … your words are too mesmerizing :-)

  3. How do those perfect words flow out of you so readily? great set, but the first one – sometimes I don’t really know what I am feeling….

Thank you for letting these words touch you. They are far from perfect, and most of the time they don’t flow at all; I have to plead and beg and cajole them to come. But if they touch your heart or brush your soul or shake your mind into a new awareness, then all the effort was worth it. :)

  4. The wilderness you speak of in the first senryu is probably the most desolate of all…

  5. lovely haikus all three
