Three

original

By chance I pass by
the greengrocer’s at midday—
empty lettuce bins.

~~ ~~ ~~

Entice me with words,
not with wine or winsomeness—
scribble notes of love.

~~ ~~ ~~

Savor confections—
cradle them on your tongue till
they turn to ashes.

  1. Very nice selection again this week–I am most drawn to the image in the first one. Excellent!

  2. “Entice me with words,
    not with wine or winsomeness—
    scribble notes of love.”
I like this, notes show how true they are, words will ferret out the truth.

  3. I like the lines:

    “Entice me with words,
    not with wine or winsomeness—
    scribble notes of love.”

Written letters mostly speak the truth unlike speeches.

  4. I agree…the first haiku is standout.

  5. I agree….the first haiku is standout

  6. I like all of these but I think the second one is my favourite.

  7. Oh yeah, love the scribbled notes of love. Fun trio.

  8. All are lovely… the third is my favorite, though.

  9. The second is lovely but the first is my favourite because it verges on the quirky. There is an entire poem in empty lettuce bins.

  10. a lovely collection once again. I like the image “cradle them on your tongue,” but admit I wouldn’t mind some “scribble notes of love.”
