Three Dance Steps

original

In the ancient dance,
you dangle between this world
and the one to come.

~~ ~~ ~~

In the ancient dance—
the Herculean labor
of shifting your feet.

~~ ~~ ~~

In the ancient dance,
you execute steps neatly,
praying you don’t fall.
