These Are the Women

original

These are the women
careful to salt the oceans
with their fearsome tears.

~~ ~~ ~~

These are the women
who hug men and galaxies
with ferocity.

~~ ~~ ~~

These are the women
who marvel at each mistake,
their stumbling a gift.

  2. Come off it! I can only do the impossible at once; miracles take me a lot longer! :)

  3. Each stanza a message of strength and balance. Together, the three create a vision of ideal.

  4. I would like to know by what standard the words
    careful, hug and mistake
are not present in this post?!?

Perhaps that stumble is a gift.

    Cheers!

  7. Amazons or Spartans I should guess – either way they are certainly impressive.

  8. Woman have cared for, loved, and shed many a tear. Enough to fill oceans, I think. Loves the first poem

  9. Who marvel at each mistake – to marvel and learn, i loved the care and the felling you put into this.

  10. I am sorry the comments have referred to the words that I can see clearly. What is important is the strength of the haiku and the women portrayed.

  11. …and I marvel at women who speak with gifted poignancy! Well done!

  12. …careful to salt the oceans… ha, i liked that… i think you’ve summed it all that a woman should be — graceful & brave… excellent… smiles…

  13. Visiting from Poets United: I love each one of these!

  14. You often write three. I like your women. I have always hooked up with the strong ones. I guess because my single mom (from 2.5 to 5) taught me not to fear them.

  15. brilliant, this should continue into a.huge celebration of women

  16. oh my – the power..almost primal…hard to pick a favourite line..they all knocked my socks off..

  17. So glad I read this poem because it is amazing. Thank you.
