Sufficient
Sonoran Desert, Southern Arizona
gathering seashells
while ocean tides rise and fall
two sisters bicker*
when the deep waters recede
a sun-baked stone will suffice

great shadow shot
You always find the intriguing and great shadow shots!!! Hope you’re enjoying your weekend!!
There are more shadows here than first meets the eye .. the simple is not so simple after all!
Joy : )
what a cool beach stone!! ever changing. ah the life at the water’s edge. happy weekend MMT!!
it feels as if the mask is perfectly formed and indeed, a sense of feeling is expressed…a cool shadow lies alongside and we are amazed that the sea can form a mask with such authenticity and style…
Nice shot. As a kid I liked collecting them.
Beautiful completion mmt
There is nothing quite as peaceful as a sun-baked stone. It’s my totem animal, cackle!
🙂
The stone looks like pumice- and your haiku is perfect for the image. Have a lovely day.
lovely shadows!
I can feel the heat the stone has absorbed and the sound of children bickering. I love it.
Me thinks that stone is dying to be picked up and thrown back into the deep!
The deep waters of the sisters bickering, perhaps… I like it very much. Thoughtful. 🙂
This stone is so porous, it almost looks like an unbaked loaf of bread(with a few poke holes)
Is it the pumice stone?
The stone looks spongey. Those indentations and pores are quite intriguing. The shadow makes it all seem quite dramatic.
Is it just me or is that a shadow profile of A Hitchcock?
Now that you mention it, I sort of see it too! 😉
simple but efficient ! 🙂
The poem is, but I fear the sisters are not! 😉
nice..wonder if the sisters will bicker over the stone 🙂
Of course they will! 😉
Interesting shadow prints within and out.
Nice! Love beach stones. This one was very expressive.
Oh hope they are at peace over the stone.
I think one of them hit the other over the head with it! 😉
so one is definitely at peace 😦
Uh, I’m afraid so…RIP…
lol. love that stony face. 🙂
‘a sun-baked stone’ – I like sun-baked things! 🙂
lovely offering. Thanks for sharing the love up-close with I Heart Macro:-)
looks like this stone is just right to be used between the two sisters – what a wonderful completion, MMT. ☺
Beautifully said MMT:-)Who knows, they may have something new to fight over, lol!
An amazing stone, with so many shadows in and around it.
K
Yes, and they will carve stories on sand 🙂
