Shadow Shot Sunday: Hose Bib
Even a hose bib
gets thirsty when no water
flows from its gullet.

Delightful, sharp shadow! Imagine, if the water flowed, how the shadow would seem to run forever! Hmmm…The moral of that story is that forever is not always a good idea. A forever lake is good but a tap forever running water is bad!
Thank you for your wonderful haiku on my blog!
Loved it!
P.S. I am a high school teacher.
I never thought of a shadow running forever, Gemma, until you mentioned it. That image is now fixed firmly in my mind. Thank you!
Can I get an amen? Love the lighting, shadow, contrast, even color (or lack, thereof). A Superior Snap, for sure! And speaking of which, don’t forget to swing by and celebrate Sx3 with me today. A Tar-Jay Gift Card is at stake!
You’re giving away a gift card? Wow! I don’t recall that you’ve ever given away anything before. I’m on my way!
Hot days
Dry shadows
Summer.
Indeed!
Wonderful summer capture. Reminds me of playing in the hose as a child.
Those “hose days” were wonder-filled, weren’t they, Rita?
Can almost feel the heat! Great shadow shot! Happy SSS!
Although that shot was taken just when the sun was barely up over the horizon, and it was cool that particular morning, the weather has now decided to get summery—hot!
Short n’ sweet
Nice n’ simple
Me likey
Bravo!
Almost looks like one of those old “B” movie martian ray guns. I guess you can tell I have a 12 year old son.
I love the haiku you leave every where you visit. It makes it fun to visit someone after you’ve already been there!
I’m trying, South Lakes Mom, to leave a trail of happy little words wherever I go!
With its shadow it looks like a double hose bib…. great shot, simple but effective.
Two for one!
We just love our haiku – thank you!! Love your shadow this week as well. What a fun shadow it makes!
Have a lovely week ahead!
I’ll be stopping by again sometime soon with another little gift of words. Thank you for your kindness.
very neat! such a crisp shadow.
and thanks for the haiku you sent! loved it 🙂
have a great week
My week is turning out to be quite “great,” Whizkid, as I receive all these notes of appreciation!
The muted color and subtle textures really add to the crispness of the shadow. cool haiku too.
Wow, Gallery Juana, you write like an art critic! Were you trained in the craft?
I love the details in your shadow. You captured it so well! Very nice!
Thanks, Brandi. Actually, I’ve been amazed at what I can do with a simple, castoff camera. One of my kids got rid of the camera nearly two years ago (“It doesn’t work right anymore”), I grabbed it, and have been shooting ever since.
Marvellous shot! I love the idea of a thirsty tap.
A thirsty water source—now there’s a paradox for you!
I like it! It looks like a drill in its shadow.
Why, it sort of does look like a drill, doesn’t it? Thanks for pointing that out.
