Though the door is locked
it will open when you are
ready to move on…

  1. Atmospheric shadow shot! Visual drama frozen in time! And love the poem’s twist!

  2. interesting SS..and even more so with the poem..love it 🙂

  3. Oh, we just love it!! What a fantastic highlight of that lock- and a perfect haiku as well!!

  4. Needed this today – thanks, my friend 🙂

  5. Great shot – the door to a room in which one seeks privacy.

I hope you find the key to D-boy’s lock-in. I agree – it is appalling that a child can slip through for so many years without problems being addressed.

  6. I like what you’ve chosen for SSS… great shot

    best wishes
    Ribbon

  7. Shadowy view of a keyhole through a keyhole…cool catch!

  8. that is very atmospheric and mysterious

  9. a superb atmospheric photo – and now my attempt at a ‘poem’

    go through the door
to find if there is more
    that life has to offer

  10. As always, I came for the shadows but read every one of your posts and the comments you received. What you wrote about the first day of school assignment is scary, but to be honest I’m not surprised. D Boy could probably have a learning disability, I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt, but how about A Girl and all the rest? How can those kids make it to fifth and sixth grade without knowing basic spelling? (by the way, texting is not helping, Parents!!!!)…How can my Son, (he will be a Freshman in College this Fall) finish High School without taking a Mandatory Geography or Civic Class? How can my Daughter be pulled out of Math or Spanish class because Soccer games are scheduled during school hours?, (by the way, she quit the school team for that reason)…I can go on and on, but today is Sunday and you probably don’t want to read about school so I’ll let you enjoy the day and recharge your batteries, because I know you’ll need them!!!! Thank you for the beautiful shadow you posted today and all you do for those children!

  11. Great shadow shot! Thanks for the haiku – I thought along the same lines but couldn’t quite get it together, it being bamboo and not bean!!

  12. ah … how TRUE this is!
    simple reminder today
    RESONATES within …

    Thanks …
    Hugs and blessings,

  13. Perfect haiku for the photo. And I do believe doors open when the time is right. 😉

  14. It’s usually about this time at the movies that I close my eyes, because I know that the lock is about to turn and scary things are about to happen. Reading your earlier posts is also a little scary and makes me wonder what will become of these students who appear to fall through the cracks. Thank goodness there are teachers like you.

  15. Very mysterious shot – echoed by your wonderful words.

  16. …and to him who knocks,
    the door will surely open.
    Luke Eleven Nine

  17. This is really a perfect combination of image and words.

  18. Perfection at it’s best!

  19. Love this shot

  20. wow. great capture 🙂 and again, hats off to your wonderful haiku
