Still the brilliant star
guides the Wise Ones from afar,
bearing precious gifts.

  1. Lovely capture and lovely words as always! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

    Sylvia

  2. A beautiful star /snowflake! Great shadow shot!
    Love your haiku.

    • magicalmysticalteacher

Well, I guess it is more a snowflake than a star, isn’t it? However, poets are allowed to take certain liberties, aren’t they? 🙂

      Thanks for stopping by, Beverly!

  3. Twinkle little star:
    Of wonder and darkest night;
    Light unto the world.

    • magicalmysticalteacher

Poignant haiku, Jazz Bumpa! When I started to write my own, I was wondering how to include the “twinkle” image. I didn’t manage to accomplish it, but you did. Bravo!

  4. That is a beautiful snowflake glowing in light above the shadows of darkness.

    • magicalmysticalteacher

Snowflake. Star. Glowing thingie! Thanks for appreciating the beauty of the scene, Carolyn, and for taking the time to say so! I always appreciate your visits. 🙂

  5. Love the shadowy depths while the star glows! Lovely!

    • magicalmysticalteacher

Shadowy depths indeed, Gemma! Seems like a paradigm of much of life. We are surrounded by so much darkness at times, and yet light always emerges. Ah, wondrous light! Thank you for your enthusiastic comment!

  6. Lovely shot and words!!!!
    Gena

    • magicalmysticalteacher

Thank you, Gena! It’s always heartwarming to know that both my words and photos have touched someone. Have a bright day!

  7. Makes me shiver just looking at it…this has been a very cold few weeks in my neck o the woods, I’m ready for it to go bye bye!

  8. no shiver here! 🙂
    it’s electric snowflake,
    bright and shiny!

    Have a great week!

  9. It’s a mystical symbol, whether snowflake or star, and it makes a great photo!

    • magicalmysticalteacher

Janie, it IS a mystical symbol, isn’t it–and that’s what makes it so enticing. Thank you for visiting.

  10. How lovely to keep the Christmas memory alive as we move into the new decade … thank you.
    Hugs and blessings,

    • magicalmysticalteacher

I was pretty sure I could “get away with” one more Christmas shot this early in 2010! I always appreciate your visits, Storyteller. Thank you!

  11. Thanks for your brilliant star that guides me in the night.

  12. I love this snowflake/star shadow photo. It’s beautiful. And I always love your poems.

    Paz

    • magicalmysticalteacher

Paz, you have double vision: star/snowflake! I’m afraid I didn’t see the snowflake until others pointed it out. I had “starry” eyes! 🙂

  13. Thank you for the kind comment on my Shadow Shot. A snowflake or a star? YES! 🙂 Very well done!

    Square Peg Guy

  14. Haiku

    What magical night
Do stars that dance in darkness
    They brighten the sky.

    Does mystery cloak
The field with shawl of whiteness
    Snowflakes fill the ground!

  15. A star! No, a snowflake!
Oh, I don’t know…I see both. It is also nice to see that there are many out there who celebrate the 12 days of Christmas!
    Lovely post!

    • magicalmysticalteacher

We might as well stretch Christmas out as long as possible, don’t you think? In the immortal words of the reformed Ebeneezer Scrooge: “I will honour Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year…”

  16. what a beautiful verse for the photo!

  17. Beautiful snowflake – it even looks warm.

  18. This tingly drop of snow looks the mother of all the snowflakes surrounded by the twinkle stars.

    Ah! nice…

  19. Hi Magical,

I was going to say snowflake too but the earlier commenters beat me to it.
    That’s ok, it’s a star-shaped snowflake.

I like all the pretty lights. Twinkle, twinkle.

Have a great week seeking shadow shots for Sunday.

    • magicalmysticalteacher

You’ve figured out yet another approach to this photo, Patti V.: “a star-shaped snowflake.” I’m marveling at the way different people see the same thing differently! Thanks for stopping by.

  20. WOW this is really a great shadow shot!
