Shadow Shot Sunday: Once Splendid

This throne that you see was once splendid,
But now it demands to be mended;
It’s covered with scum
And any bare bum
Would doubtless be highly offended.

  1. I love it, now this is my kinda loo…out in the open air!!!

Thanks for the giggles this morning…you just can’t take life too serious these days…and I loved your haiku tribute to my rusty ol’ work horse.

    Have a wonderful Easter friend!!!

  3. That loo is a bit too rustic in a time where tile and marble is more preferred. I like the cast iron sink, though!

  11. lol love the poem!

  12. Oh, that should surely win some kind of prize. Before I had really looked at the photo and read the first line, I was expecting something spiritural, this being Easter and all.

I have a photo somewhere in my archives like that. I’ll have to look it up.

  13. How fun! A delightful post! Great time visiting with you!

  14. Looks the old toilet in the province of nowhere in my past life and that’s the reality.

    Awesome to see & recall.

    Happy Easter.

  15. Ooo … childhood memories of the loo out the back of the house … wonderful in a photo, but I think I’ll stick to my indoors variety for comfort. Love your limerick – very moving!

  16. I know you love olde worlde subjects! I expected some romantic whimsy! But hey! We’re talking about a toilet here! And a soiled one! Adored the limerick! Still chuckling!

  17. Great photo and great poem. I’m a new comer and I feel a bit intimidated to participate in shadow shot sunday if this is the sort of standard I have to live up to. Impressed 🙂

  18. Love it! What fun!
I’m in the middle of a small bathroom project…the toilet was in better shape, but that floor…well, almost!
    Have a beautiful weekend!

The lighting and perspective kind pay a homage to the place.
