  1. Looks sorely neglected!!

I’d like to have you visit with me today if you can. It’s a special day for me and my husband…today we celebrate 42 years of marriage. My RUBY TUESDAY is HERE

  2. A very descriptive image of “aching soil”! Complements the photo beautifully!

Just letting you know that your Ruby Tuesday link on Mary’s blog brings up “Error 404”. Your page is blank with just the header and the right sidebar. I clicked on May 2010 under Archives to get to this post!

Gemma, I discovered the defective link early this morning. Mr. Linky seems not to like me, because he “defected” my link on Mellow Yellow Monday as well. I’m beginning to develop a persecution complex! As you can see, I tried the 3-5-3 pattern for haiku/senryu in this cemetery scene. There’s power in brevity, and I’m enjoying the challenge of trying to say a lot with a very few words. What do you think? Does it work?

  3. Well, at least Frank Charley has a spot of color on his horizon. What’s his story?

  4. Well that really sad. At least there is that one lone red flower. Would love to know the story to this.

    Happy Ruby Tuesday to you!

  5. Very poignant…and someone remembered him.

  6. What a sad photo, MMT!

I like your writing though, especially the aching soil.

  7. you always attach the most wonderful words to your images
this photo is sad yet touching

  8. Oh I wanted more of his story too! I see by the comments that’s I’m not alone. Glad you got your linky deal fixed.

  9. Who was Frank Charley? It looks so ‘sad” ….

  10. Well – now more people will think about Frank Charley – he has made his impact on the world, whoever he is. Lovely enigmatic shot and apt words as always. xx

  11. very poignant indeed…..thanks for coming…great to be here!

  12. hi teacher…is there a sad story behind this grave?
i tried to google it but couldn’t find anytbing.
the red flower is nice and stands in contrast to all of that piled up sand!thank you very much for giving me another of your great poems at my blog..you are very kind and i love your poems….love terry

Oh, Terry, there’s probably a sad story behind every grave. This one caught my eye because of the red lettering on the headstone. I’m not surprised that a Google search turned up nothing, because this is a pretty neglected cemetery. Someone else who lives in Farmington commented that she didn’t even know that the cemetery existed! Thanks for your visit!
