One Single Impression and       Mellow Yellow Monday: Pause

faltering leaves pause
in mid-song to sniff chill air—
scent of killing frost

  1. It really is getting to be that time of year, but I’m not ready for that killing frost (even though we’ve already had ours).

    Mine is here. http://razzamadazzle.wordpress.com/2010/11/06/between-the-breaths/

  2. Very nice haiku. It’s true, some people can smell a frost before it comes, and rain, too.
My husband asked me what my computer says about the weather here this week. I’m sorry I looked. Rain and snow tonight and tomorrow, cold on Tuesday, then just above freezing the rest of the week. Ugh. It was so nice yesterday and today.

  4. Oh yes — the leaves know what’s about to happen. The only trouble with Autumn is that it never lasts long enough!

  5. Lovely Haiku and an apt photograph to go with it. Have a nice day.

  6. I love the contrast of all the colors. Great shot !

  8. Yellow will fade to
White of snow and chilling frost:
    Winter is coming.

    Cheers!
