I wonder what she has in her bag. 🙂
hobbling home….this made me giggle. I felt like her yesterday…moving out of my art studio into another building. Today is a new fresh day!
i miss the mercado.
the scents and sounds of daily life in the heart and pulse of every town, mexico.
such a longing.
Cute entry for MYM!
From the title, I thought for a moment that it was going to be a post about me ;>). Very seriously, though, I count my blessings every day that I have the care and pampering that are still available to us here in this country (even with all the probelms that we have) that enable me to feel younger than my chronological age — not everyone everywhere is so fortunate.
She lives life every day, doing the chores and walking home. What I see is someone who works her hardest at living, and carries on with a sense of dignity….poignant and an affirmation of life!
All too often lately I’ve been hobbling or at least that is how it feels compared to how I used to bounce around. I’m always struck when visiting and photographing other parts of the world how much we are all alike.
Back home to cook in her Yellow apron? Great shot.
Oh…shopping makes me hobble too! I guess that’s where the phrase, “shop ’til you drop,” comes from! I always appreciate and am SO amazed at the poetry to leave for me to enjoy! You are one TALENTED lady! Thank you so much! =)
Some things never change in Mexico, do they? It’s been more than 30 years since I was in Guadalajara, but this photo could have been taken then. It’s beautiful.

How wonderful she continues to keep up with her life! Dressing, going out, making the purchases she has planned out… very independent. (Makes me feel lazy!)
I think I know her. Don’t I? Love her bright red jacket. My kind of color.
Quite a poignant, beautiful photo!
This reminds me of our Sunday market in the Phils.
Great shot
What a lovely capture of tones, life and mood.
