It depends – the hot AZ sun could wither the flora within the barrel. So on a temperate day, it may want to fly, and that would be a sight to behold. We’d miss the barrel should it leace…
he does look a bit lonely, maybe he needs a friend to keep him company.
What a beautiful old barrel…it really looks lonely but not sad…

Beautiful blue sky and shadows. I’d flee to somewhere a bit less parched, or perhaps just stay there and age gracefully.

Pretty imaginative to visualize this barrel flying away from his dismal, shady corner! But he does have beautiful, glossy leaves, it seems, and maybe they keep him company there in the shade.
A beautiful corner bathed in shadows! And love the intimate question in the haiku!
Love the adobe and the old southwest style/theme. The shadow of the huge prickly pear cactus is outstanding!!!

Somehow it reminded me of how we are always tied up and bound to something. How freedom does not really exist in the real sense of the word.
