Pay attention, child,
to common things—lazy clouds,
lush pastures, small streams.

Draw nigh them, my child,
learning all you need to know
of wisdom and grace—

The ordinary
scintillates as numinous
in this holy place.

  5. Oh my goodness…How beautiful and kindred spirits as I always, and I do mean every day, appreciate the beauty of streams and I used the word “Scintillate” at least six times this week. Nature is remarkable as is your haiku.

  7. Difficult to place where the photographer might be standing here to capture the cloud in passing, a stream that wanders
    wider behind you, perhaps.
