Rambling days over,
old man sits in solitude
with an easy grace.

Food for Thought
this touched my heart – love the last line.
these are the ones with stories to tell!!!
“An easy grace”, love it. Fits so well!
It’s so good.. would love to do that myself… but I should be blessed to reach there…
I am so glad I enlarged this photo as when I first glanced at it, I thought he was in a wheel chair. I see now he is by a bicycle, in his good guy white hat. A man of a certain age I can identify with because I am a woman of a certain age, just in a different culture. Love your haiku, too.
The image and the poem are perfect together.
I love your description of this older man as sitting “with an easy grace.” You can see the pride in his face, his grooming, the way he’s dressed, his sun hat. Somehow we feel it’s all right that his “rambling days are over.” This haiku sparkles with your compassion, MMT.
Resting after a day of labor…

such beautiful words, and a great shot.
I think he’s enjoying watching the surroundings.
Have a fabulous week!

A great moment that is like an icon of the beauty of solitude! It can be grasped anywhere! Lovely haiku!
A picture like this is worth a thousand words. So serene and thought provoking. Love the subtle colors…almost black and white. Lovely shot.
I’m always anxious to “check your post” when I see your name on the list. I know you will have “something” good for all of us to enjoy. Great picture and the haiku is wonderful
(have I said that before!!!!). Mickie 🙂
nice lines to go with the picture…everyone wants such peace in their life
We can only hope for this…nicely done!
Lovely haiku…lovely snap.
