in your eye, Lady Mary?
Some light mirth, perhaps?

  1. Another beautiful statue. I haven’t seen this Mary before!! Thanks for liking my painting. Yes my favorite color is blue too!! I love blue so much I would color myself blue if I could – like the Avatar woman!! LOL!!!

  2. Enjoyed those words. A twinkle indeed.

  3. I’ve never seen this Mary before…I wonder why the wheel?
    Beautiful little niche♥♥♥

  4. Wonderful statue and a delightful haiku!

  5. She loves having a little friend stop by to visit.

  6. I wonder if the wheel has some sort of Hawaiian significance?
    interesting and beautiful.

  7. This is amazing. I have been seeing so many Mary depictions the past two days and each has a different expression. Then I was wondering if the artist creators had something specific in mind. Mirth might be the right answer in the case of this beauty. Makes me think I might do a “guess the expression” contest one of these 12 days. Too irreverent? Naw, just fun!

  8. Lovely photo ~ and love the twinkle in the eye~ everyone should have a ‘twinkle in the eye’ ~ thanks, namaste, Carol ^_^

  9. Beautiful picture. I love the words, I KNOW Mary had a sense of joy and humor. that’s why I can talk to here!

  10. i’ve always liked the word ‘mirth’…one of the best things about being a human

  11. I like the wheel at her feet. I don’t see hand grips so must not be nautical. Can you say what the wheel represents with this Virgin? She is unfamiliar to me.

  12. I like the thought of a twinkle in Mary’s eye.

  13. perhaps she is saint catherine of the wheel, known as one of the 14 holy helpers. you can read about her here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catherine_of_Alexandria.

lovely …YES, bring on the light mirth!!!

  14. Do you know what church this statue is in? It intrigues me with the wheel and the Infant of Prague. I like the twinkle in her eye.

  15. A lovely post indeed!makes me full of mirth!;-)

  16. Yesterday’s photo was from Hawaii too, wasn’t it? This one is strikingly beautiful. Love the infant at her feet (barely room!)

  17. I like that thought ‘light mirth’, gives Mary a human touch!
