Un Gran Milagro

The señora with the camera thinks I do not see her. Let her think that. I don’t care.
See that pigeon? I can catch him if I run fast enough. I can do it with my eyes closed. Yes, that is the best way. Eyes closed. Then the pigeon will not see me coming.
At the very last second, I open my eyes, and snatch the pigeon by his legs. I hold him upside down. He squawks and struggles, but I do not let go. After all, he is only a bird, and I am Antonio, the Bravest Boy in the Callejones.
What a fat pigeon! I’m sure he’s very tasty. I will take him home, and mama will cook him for supper. Full of pigeon pie, I will crawl into bed and dream until mañana.

For mama and me
fresh pigeon pie for supper—
un gran milagro!
