Six Little Fictions

original

sky and birds and bells
bellowing morning fiction
to my eager ears

~~~ ~~~ ~~~
About a plum tree
there is nothing of fiction—
every fruit is true.
~~~ ~~~ ~~~

The Tuesday market
is filled with fiction sellers—
their words shine and dance.

~~~ ~~~ ~~~
I paid eight pesos
for what I thought was fiction,
but was solid truth.
~~~ ~~~ ~~~

seven hundred schools—
fiction their curriculum
truth in short supply

~~~ ~~~ ~~~
A heroic priest—
is this some sort of fiction?
Do not jest with me!
