Six Takes on ‘Annoyance’

the baying of dogs—
a 2 a.m. annoyance
for the sleeping clan
~~~ ~~~ ~~~
Three ancient scriptures
proved to be an annoyance
to her sinful bent.
~~~ ~~~ ~~~
Just three days ago
she shed one old annoyance
to don another.
~~~ ~~~ ~~~
the small-town parade
a street full of annoyance
off-key bagpipers
~~~ ~~~ ~~~
It is difficult
to ignore this annoyance—
snores at 2 a.m.
~~~ ~~~ ~~~
I pick up a book
to forget the annoyance
of a bad workday.
