Six Takes on ‘Mesmerize’

Haiku Heights

Thick smoke from the fires
begins to mesmerize me,
but I blink and run.

~~~ ~~~ ~~~
Weak from thirst and heat,
nothing can mesmerize me,
save a glass of wine.
~~~ ~~~ ~~~

Move with the music
and let it mesmerize you,
swaying to and fro.

~~~ ~~~ ~~~
She cannot resist
the chance to mesmerize him,
toying with his heart.
~~~ ~~~ ~~~

Ache for the woman
whose charms will mesmerize you
to your dying day.

~~~ ~~~ ~~~
Too many questions
will surely mesmerize me,
causing me to quail.
