    The dry desert air is hot, too. The pines offer a respite to the glare of the sun, and after we cool off, we can plumb the depths of knowledge within the tree’s rings…

    it is lovely to think we or something could lift the heart of a ancient tree, we are so use to thinking of all the things trees offer us. i love this turn of the tables!

    Not only can I find the meaning, if you look up the depth of the pine shadow in your Funk & Wagnall’s there is a solipsistic picture of me!

    Without that image.. the word pine in itself evokes lot of questions when imagined another way.. Meaning in the shadows of the pine.. plumbing the heart to find out.. Lovely take.
