  2. Great photo and excellent contemplative haiku ~~ thanks, ^_^ (A Creative Harbor)

  3. I love the captured shadows of the pine as well as the blue hue of the sky…beautiful capture of a wondrous tree…

  4. Well composed picture and haiku. Mysterious.

  5. The dry desert air is hot, too. The pines offer a respite to the glare of the sun, and after we cool off, we can plumb the depths of knowledge within the tree’s rings…

  6. A beautiful tapestry-like invitation.

  7. Sylvia Kirkwood

Wonderful shadow shot for the day! After all the wild fires, I’m glad you can still find some trees to offer a shadow! Hope you have a great weekend!

  8. it is lovely to think we or something could lift the heart of a ancient tree, we are so use to thinking of all the things trees offer us. i love this turn of the tables!

  9. MMT again a wonderful picture, and the way you have written your haiku in the question way is awesome. Well done.

  10. Not only can I find the meaning, if you look up the depth of the pine shadow in your Funk & Wagnall’s there is a solipsistic picture of me!

  11. A clever way of extending it as a question. Beautiful haiku, MMT!

    Hank

  28. That’s a thought-provoking haiku. I too liked the question format of it. Beautiful! 🙂

  29. Without that image.. the word pine in itself evokes lot of questions when imagined another way.. Meaning in the shadows of the pine.. plumbing the heart to find out.. Lovely take.

  30. Thoughtful haiku with interesting question…

  31. Well done and photo speaks to me.

    Melanie

  32. wow, I’ve been away from here for such a long time, that I had almost forgotten what wonderful haiku you write! Amazing and well, I would say, in answer to the question: “Who, indeed?”
    Best, M.
