    In a desert outside of Las Vegas, I glanced about and thought “how barren and desolate”….As I wandered I began to see vast varieties of desert blooms and cacti of all kinds…I ended up taking 35 pictures….Just thot I’d share that….

    The pollinating drones are not deterred by barren landscapes! Any flower anywhere is the right flower for a taste or two! Beautiful photo and haiku!

    Excellent. I love the idea of just using the word “twins”–should have tried that but I don’t read anyone’s haiku first (except sometimes Kristjaan’s) before doing my own. I found this one tricky.

      I think ALL the Zodiac prompts are tricky, which is why I decided to go for “twins,” and ignore any zodiacal connection.

        Good idea. I’ve been using tricks here and there, too. I also am finding the Zodiac really difficult. On the other hand, I think it’s good to make a commitment to the prompts, because when we meet the challenge, we prove to ourselves that we can do it

          My problem is that I think the Zodiac is a bunch of hooey, so it’s hard/impossible to write about something I don’t believe in.

            I think a lot of us are having the same issue. I respect people’s right to believe as I respect any beliefs but I think of it in the same category of fun as fortune cookies. And a lot of the historical stuff, just too dense to haiku. I know, because I spent a long time earlier trying to work Castor and Pollux in (just because I love the sounds of their names…..)

            Castor and Pollux could be woven into haiku rather nicely, I think. They tingle on the tongue!

    Drone+ Gemini (without the zodiac reference) + staying in your own desert moment +conveying a peaceful contemplative bit of food for thought + a lovely photo = a virtuoso performance, Teacher. Bravo!

    I love these photo, as we don’t normally see cactus to flower here. So do they get pollinated too, haven’t seen a cactus pod, exciting! Maybe you should post them in the future. thanks.
