Irrigated field, Southern Arizona

~~ 1 ~~
Over early rice
she sprinkles magic powders—
tonight, her lover!
~~ 2 ~~
Needing no lamplight,
rice planters steal forth at dawn,
bearing tender shoots.
~~ 3 ~~
scarlet letters
staining sheets
of rice paper

  1. Lovely sets of haiku ~ like the line ‘needing no light …. quality haiku here ~ carol, xo

  2. this set is almost criminal, or full of criminals…

  3. Wow to that third haiku…awesome. Really love the second one too.

  4. Your last haiku gives me associations of Nathaniel Hathorne and Nagisa Oshima.

  5. Very beautiful landscape!Great photo!

  6. Great haiku set MMT! Your second one invokes a lot of memories of seeing those who toiled from early dawn on the rice-fields. Nicely!

  7. Great set…#3 is my favorite…all 3 well written

  8. Gipsy Magic MMT? That first haiku is awesome. Thank you for participating in Carpe Diem.
