Dreaming of the One

Banner photo BANNER.jpg

This week’s words are: chance, nest, secret, clever, swept, ripe, blinked, stars, basket, flesh, saw, hand

~~ 1 ~~

I dream of the one
who stole my seven ripe plums,
while I blinked back tears.

~~ 2 ~~

I dream of the one
whose basket was filled with stars,
harvested by hand.

~~ 3 ~~

I dream of the one
who thought himself so clever
that he swept my heart.

~~ 4 ~~

I dream of the one
who saw my naked flesh, yet
did not turn away.

~~ 5 ~~

I dream of the one
I met by chance one evening
in a secret place.

~~ 6 ~~

I dream of the one
who helped the wren pad her nest
before the storm struck.

  1. What a wonderful “one” … 🙂

  2. what an interesting progression in this…some slices a bit painful…some tender…i like that last one as intended or not it has some cool symbolism in relation to the rest….

  3. dreams are the doors to other realm

  4. I agree with Brian. The last one says it all.

  5. You sent us on a trip with a lovely series.

  6. Yes, the last stanza really packs a punch. Beautifully written.

  7. Love the progression of haiku, particularly drawn to the final one.

  8. I love the first line, and where it took you in each individual piece. I like Brian’s comment about tenderness mixed in with pain. These really do read well together. You are masterful.

Thank you, Brenda. If there’s any mastery involved, it comes from my having experienced both tenderness and pain.

  9. What a great set. I specially loved the wren

  10. I often have dreams like those…

  11. I loved each one, but the last one stole my heart!

  12. The last three make me want to meet the one. I look forward to your haiku each week.

  13. These read very well together as a set.

  14. Number 2 is gorgeous.

  15. Thank you for a gorgeous look at this dream! Your repetition and the tension you create in the progression is quite wonderful! I have seven favorites….or maybe one favorite since, for me , it is one poem.

  16. Beautiful! The last one especially. I dream of this One too.

  17. SO lovely….especially the basket full of stars and the one who helped pad the nest before the storm. Wonderful writing! I always love your poetry!

  18. I like the different moods you show in each one of your poems. My favorite is the romantic #5!

  19. I love the way that, as Brian said, the last brings all the others together in a powerful way. Very nice!

  20. The mystery is in the nest of the last verse..magical..reinvention indeed.. 😉

  21. Those are all so good – glad we don’t have to choose!

  22. All lovely but I love the hand picked basket of stars ♥

  23. I read this as a love story and blinked back tears too.

  24. I love the way the haiku progress and stand alone
this was an excellent romance (including the ups and downs)

  25. hypercryptical

Lovely MMT and No.2 is something special.
    Anna :o]

  26. I dream of the one…. who swept my heart….. very nice and rather scary.
    Lovely haikus

  27. All well worth dreaming too.

  28. Gorgeous set, mmt.

    Pamela
