“That is a beautiful shrine. I must get to this church next time in Tucson. I’m sad that I’ve missed it in the past with as often as I go there or pass through. Maybe in late March or April this year if all goes well. Thanks for posting this photo. I like it a lot. Peace.”

(Comment left by Joe Spado aka Spadoman, blogger at Round Circle, when this post was published originally on 7 December 2011. Joe died suddenly and unexpectedly yesterday as he was traveling in South Dakota with his beloved wife Barbara. We miss you, Joe. There’s much less kindness and gentleness on Earth now that you are gone.)

With malice toward none,
she opens her arms with joy
to embrace the world.

  1. Thank you for this post…♥♥♥

  2. Beautiful shrine indeed. Thank you.

  3. Open arms to everyone… especially to our Joe. May we all have such peace, yearn for peace starting in our own hearts.

  4. Oh MMT, we at Haiku My Heart are the poorer for this great loss. I’m tearing up writing this. May he rest in perfect peace. And may the love and peace of God be with Barbara and the kids.

  5. Beautiful image in Tucson, with blue background, my favorite. Thanks for posting one of Joe’s favorites. Rest in peace, Joe, and Holy Spirit, bring comfort to his family and friends.

  6. I am always saddened to hear of the passing of a kind soul. Your haiku is wonderful – an all-embracing Madonna. I am sure she scooped Joe up to help him find his way to heaven. So sad for his family and friends.

  7. If only we could all follow her example how the world would change!

  8. Peace fills my heart as I read this post – May peace find Joe’s family in this grieving time!

  9. indeed!!!have a nice Tuesday

  12. I LOVE this shrine. Talked to Joe about visiting the mission next time he was in Az. as well.

  13. What a beautiful tribute. How often I felt as though he reached right through cyberspace with comforting or kind words to touch my heart. Peace to all who mourn him.

  14. Thank you so much!
    I will miss Him.
