  1. Such a beautiful flower with such ‘deadly’ stems! I’d still attempt to pick it, given the chance…

  2. Precious blossoms protected well!

  3. This one is NEW to me…prickly poppy. Such a pretty blossom and your shadows you’ve captured are really pretty MMT!

  4. contrast in beauty and thorns…such is the way of life i suppose. beautiful shot MMT!! happy weekend!!

  5. Prickly poppies, very unlike the red ones held in awe by the junkies. Nicely MMT!

    Hank

  6. It is a beautiful flower – that we dare not attempt to pick to later place in a vase. The protective thorns give us pause so we enjoy its form in nature’s backyard…

  7. BEAUTIFUL – photo and poem. I have traveled long on the thorny trail………I seem to attract thorns!

  8. Untold stories are the richest..all those wonderful thorns underneath the petals..thorns last..petals fade…(do you think we are telling them here in some way?..shh if we are 😉

  9. And yet…. those stories are longing to be told, perhaps ! This post (poem and photo) comes pretty close to perfection, MMT! 🙂

Ah, dear Wabi, you know that perfection doesn’t exist in this world, but thank you!

  10. The delicate tones and shadows are so magical. Dramatic contrast with their thorny companions.

  11. Beautiful but defensive, I have met women like this too!

  12. Complex but beautiful flower. The contrasts between all the thorns and the delicate petals is dramatic.

  13. Sorry gals. I am Queen thorn attractor of the world. No one ever tells those stories and we all really need to hear them
