  1. no Mountains! No green? No thanks.
    (No offense, teacherman, but,,,)
Photo’s very impressive, though, as always.

  2. There is a different kind of beauty, and peace one gathers from a location like this. My most relaxing vacations was visiting my grandfather on his ranch, in the Arizona desert! Once you see one sunset, you are hooked for life!

  3. Heat doesn’t agree with me, which is just as well, as it’s quite chilly here already.

  4. maybe
    the clouds
    will offer comfort

    cheers

  5. Looking for a little bit of shade!

  6. Picture captures words perfectly!

  7. Ditto-they do! We have ironwoods that grow in Hawaii-but they don’t look like this! They have ‘leaves’ or needles all over them. Unless, this one is long gone…

  8. So arid looking! Who’d be a tree in that climate?
Bank Holiday has brought its customary showers over here. Plenty of other things to smile about though. 🙂

  9. too much, even for me whose favorite season is summer

  10. The tree is impervious to the heat – however the old travelers could not count on the leafless tree to provide an oasis for their traveling travails…

  11. In your desert photos, here is always a feeling of old worlds quite separate from our sense of civilised beauty. There is a feeling of escape from the bustle of modern madness. This photo is enchanting.

  12. It was a hundred degrees here today and it does make me feel dry and thirsty! Ha! I think I need a cool drink of water after seeing the desert pictures!

    Happy Saturday!

  13. I made my first comment before the senryu went up.
    Now it’s even more appropriate.

    Namaste

  14. such a contrast between the brilliant blue sky and the dusty, dry ground. excellent shadow shot MMT!

  15. How could that sky be so blue and the ground be so parched? The way of the land…:)JP

  18. Nice composition. I like the clear blue skies, but not much of a shadow.
