An Unwelcome Guest

an unwelcome guest
needy beggar at the door
with his empty bowl
~~ ~~ ~~
an unwelcome guest
his defensive posturing
yet he leers at me
~~ ~~ ~~
an unwelcome guest
fertile ground for my contempt—
toss the beggar out

  1. Sometimes that’s what you need to do to reclaim your house 😉

  2. Nice trilogy, tells a tidy story. A smile might’ve produced the desired ending for the poor sod : )

  3. Nice series…I am enjoying your prompts from Sunday Scribbling’s too…may have a go.

  4. The second stanza is the most testing to ‘givers’. One gets put off by their negative reaction! Great lines MMT!

  5. Unwelcome guests need a lot of pride and front…they know you are frightened of them.

  6. is it terrible that I feel for the beggar?

  7. What a great story … Each stands on its own … Chain haiku … Love the thoughts and visual mix…

  8. Great expression.
this is how beggars are treated- with contempt…
