A Tiny Whirlwind

Each tiny poem begins with a phrase taken from the opening sentences of the Gospel According to Saint John (King James Version).

~~ 1 ~~

In the beginning,
they say, the planets’ spinning
made angels dizzy.

~~ 2 ~~

Sent to bear witness,
three beings from a spacecraft
endeavor to speak.

~~ 3 ~~

the will of the flesh—
a tangle of deception
net forever spread

~~ 4 ~~

full of grace and truth
both lunatic and loser
hanging out with Christ

~~ 5 ~~

A man sent from God
will tread wherever he must
to spread the good news.

    much love

  10. My favorite is the 5th one. There is truth therein, as I contemplate the meaning of the Christmas season.

  11. The apostle would have grinned at this indeed. Great set of haiku

  12. Beautiful, as always. Especially love the angels getting dizzy ! And the one “full of grace and truth, lunatic and loser”………great description!!!!

  13. Nicely done. Even for someone who sticks with what I call God and has no time for religion.

  14. Up to your usual standard MMT but I loved the humor in No.2.

  15. Loved them all, especially the first one. 🙂

  16. Brilliant compilation… So apt for the season 🙂
