If the mesquite tree
were to renounce its blossoms,
how would it bear fruit?

  1. Fruit..?? from a mesquite tree ? hmmmm. we have a LOT of mesquite bushes out here on the Plains of West Texas…due to lack of enuf water, they seldom get bigger than a bush. I don’t know that I’ve ever seen fruit on one. (or am I misunderstanding?…sometimes, being the olden age I am, I tend to get lost….:)

  2. A deeply metaphysical question, so succinctly put. Cool.

  3. A mesquite tree would not do it ! Nature understands that it is the sum of its parts.

  4. Your haiku reads like a Zen Koan. Beautifully done.
