Fountain

Plaza de Armas, Zacatecas, México
With the same longings
people and pigeons gather
where the fountain flows.
In the quiet hours
stars slip into the waters—
those who drink them shine.

Great photo – I love the deep blue of the sky.
gorgeous pic and beautiful words. x
Quenched.
The pigeons almost outnumber the people basking in the spirituality near the cathedral. All beings in this plaza thus have a peaceful venue for thought and comfort…
Stars slipping into the water! What a beautiful thought. I think they slip into my bottles of wine too! I often see them after a few glasses.

Beautiful.
lovey photo- I adore Mexico! Is this in Oaxaca?
Pigeons fly to the fountain to quench their thirst while humans quench with their eyes.
the second one is luminous.
Love the color of the sky! Beautiful photo!
Both are very beautiful, but your second has stolen my heart … a masterpiece!
This post is amazing…from opening photo to the final hymn!
You’re the only person so far who has noticed that the closing words come from an old hymn, Very perceptive!

Thanks, MMM 🙂
Lovely old building gracing the plaza setting. And once again, stunning lighting.
Oh My, such beautiful images but that second one…just sparkles|
Great image and I love the poems and the hymn title. (I didn’t know it was hymn until I read the other comments.)
I like the thought of stars slipping in the water at night. Of course they do!
Beautiful! I want to drink in that fountain, maybe I will shine..
A beautiful fountain !
Beautiful. Love the fountain and the plaza it is in!
Yes,a beautiful fountain! I get ‘travel envy’ with your images!
Great shot of the place.
Crisp photo!
Is everyone hiding from the sun? 🙂
Have a Wonderful Day!
Peace 🙂
It’s almost devoid of shadows. A good hidden shadow look.
Almost, but not quite! (You have to have a sharp eye.)

The rich blue of the sky complements the blue within the fountain. A great balance of colour in this delightful scene.
I really enjoyed your poetry today, capped with a line that got me humming! Thanks for playing today.
Happy Blue Monday!
Perfect combination of words and sight.
Such a pretty sight…
That fountain would be lovely, MMT. To drink the stars, and go on to shine! 🙂
