Mountaintop afire—
can no one quench the burning
of the holy flame?

When mountains burn, panicked creatures flee.

  1. Gorgeous picture – and words of course.

  2. Pretty pink flowers.

  3. The pink is just brilliant next to the muted desert colors.

  4. the yellow in the rocks and the gorgeous pink cacti are stand-outs! I think that cratures include the human kind. Nature’s taking a toll on the west and those who fight these fires.

  5. Love that bright pink against the rocks. Beautiful!

  6. Love the photo. The fires, not so much 😦

  7. Love the design of the rocks and the beautiful flower colours. Very scenic.

  8. A gorgeous photo and haiku.

  9. Cacti only flower infrequently so that’s a great capture

  10. Paula Scott Molokai Girl Studio

Loving that bright green lichen n the background-looks much like a petroglyph!

  11. Very beautiful picture !

  12. A fiery death
    bringing forth new life
    some say

    beautiful poetry.

  13. Wow .. a fine photo and moving haiku!
