At the wooden house,
a weird white mannequin waits
to welcome each guest.

  1. Snakypoet (Rosemary Nissen-Wade)

Yes, that’s pretty weird, when you stop to register the fact.

  2. I can think of weirder welcomes – and rather like the way she has made an effort with her scarf

  3. Uncanny, indeed! I wonder is the scarf changes day after day… 😉

  4. This is such a brilliant take on the prompt 🙂

  5. This reminds me of walking out onto the beach one early morning to find a life sized china statue of a woman sitting on a log looking out to see. She was there for some time before some goons smashed her up.

Goons? You have goons in your neighborhood? 🙂

  6. What a fascinating picture and poem! Weird indeed.

  7. She looks comfortable with her pose. Weird sometimes is unaware of weirdness.

  8. Definitely weird…the peach scarf make it though!

  9. Yikes! Like one of the cows, only human. Weird. This poem and picture definitely work together.

  10. I hate to say it, but not only have I seen weirder… I have worn weirder!! Yikes! Ha ha ha, Amy

  11. It is the contrast between the rural life where everything is real and the city where everything is sham. The reverse happens in cities where a full size mock up blue cow stands in the doorway of a shop in my town. How better to attract customers than with the absurd in a foreign setting!

  12. Had the pleasure of seeing a bunch of broken mannequins in a rubbish bin last week. There so unsettling, so strange. Beautiful piece

  13. The picture and poem have the perfect amount of weirdness.

  14. Weird and a bit creepy (the welcoming committee)
Your photographs are always a great fit with your poems.

  15. That is definitely a weird white mannequin.

  16. Have you ever heard of Vivian Maier? There is a movie named ‘Finding Vivian Maier’. Glorious photos. A couple in the movie are of disjointed mannequins. Weird for sure.
