Autumn sunrise, Sonoran Desert, Southern Arizona

The mourning dove’s breath,
tumbling from a hidden roost,
stains the eastern sky.

  1. I love your haiku. It seems to me that your writing is of the very essence of haiku as it is usually grounded in nature. The first thing I ever read about haiku was that Nature was at the core. Your haiku certainly erupts from nature and with it my soul soars.

I wish they lasted longer too, but we get them while we can, savoring the moments!
