Does she know?

A wedding at Ex-Convento de Guadalupe, Guadalupe, Zacatecas, México

Does she know, the happy bride,
That sorrow comes her way?
Does she know her firstborn son
Will sometimes go astray?
Nestled safe within her womb
The child begins to grow;
But of pangs that are to come
How little does she know!

  1. Isn’t that the truth. Beautiful couple.

  2. … and likewise she cannot imagine the moments of pride and joy.

  3. Smile. It might better that way. Birth is a miracle! The surprises as the person emerges surely can bring more joy than sorrow.

  4. That is the hard truth of it. But even if we did know, we’d take the trip anyway!

  5. So true! The trials and tribulations we go through as parents (and grandparents) can be daunting. Probably best that young parents have no clue!!

  6. I hope it’s a happy occasion for them.

  7. Whether she knows or not she is moving forward.

  8. Beautiful poem, and with deep meanings! Very apt for the photo!

  9. I suppose we all have to take that chance and go with the flow… :))) nice one.

  10. Lovely and so truthful. But, we do it anyway, don’t we!?

  11. A beautiful scene. Love the expression on the photographer’s face.
