Desolate places—
something akin to wisdom
lingers in the stones.

  1. This area may seem desolate to some people but I have always found a sense of peace and a bit of excitement in these quiet landscapes of hilly rocks. Maybe because I don’t see them often. It is like another world to me. Most appreciated. Also, ones mood would color these thoughts.

  2. Wisdom speaks to me in solitude ~ much like your stones ~ lovely haiku ~

    Happy Friday ~ ^_^

  3. a foreign landscape
    plants inhabit rocky ground
    immigrant foothold

  4. The desert’s starkness is what attracts me.

  5. Love stones. They are made of the stuff of creation, from the very beginning of time. Oh, the wisdom they hold.

  6. I actually love this place… the stones, the starkness, the dry and dead branches all call to me…your haiku, the key…

  7. This desolate place speaks to me of old worlds and wisdoms. Lovely.

  8. Great scenery.
