Among the palm fronds
the song of a mourning dove
lingers long past noon.

  1. And I will linger in the beauty of her song captured in your words and this image…

  2. Lovely picture for the skywatch!

  3. I love the lonely song of the dove.

  4. A beautiful photo and haiku, with a haunting quality to the words. 🙂

  5. …and I shall linger among the palm fronds as long as there is shade.

  6. lingering dove is such a gift ~ lovely haiku and photo ~ thanks,

Happy weekend to you ~ ^_^

  7. It was only a few years ago when I realized our doves were ‘mourning’ instead of ‘morning’. We hear them all day long here in Florida and their call does not sound unhappy to my ear..

It doesn’t sound mournful to me either, but obviously it did to the person(s) who named them!
