Look at the women

Look at the women
in their enormous jackets.
Some are writing
and some are drawing
on this crisp autumn morning.
They have stories to tell,
some short and some long,
in words or in charcoal.
You see them here
and elsewhere,
and think:
I will tell my story too.
Even if it falls flat,
it will be worth the effort.

  1. Always worth the effort.. A story well told

  2. Hi Magical Mystical Teacher, glad you told it! This is a lovely poem.

  3. It’s always the effort 🙂 Beautifully rendered.

  4. It is always worth the effort, for our families, at least, will love the story. Smiles.

  5. I may not be a woman but I feel that this poem is me as well. It’s always fine to do it whether than not doing it and regretting it later! thanks for the positivity MMT. You’re comment on my poem was so nice and cheered me on today. Many thanks! Yes, I love my book reviewing job so much it keeps me floating since I have personal reasons that keep me from some things. God bless.

  6. Yes, we have stories to tell. We try to erase, only make holes in the paper, might as well tell it.

  7. indeed, worth the telling

    happy Sunday MMT

    much love…

  8. I love that atmosphere you created… as if one is impelled to participate in the energy…

  9. I love that the speaker decides to tell her story. Because no tale ever falls flat on everyone. It always grows on someone… and that bit of magic makes it worth all sorts of whiles.

  10. And a wise choice as we should always tell our story, even if the only ears that hear are our own….love this!

  11. telling stories in charcoal, really like this line.

  12. Our stories are always worth the telling, even if sometimes only for ourselves! Great write.

I wondered if you would wore a enormous jacket too.

  14. Wonderful! Join them and I will come, too.

  15. …and it was worth this poem.

  16. Rosemary Nissen-Wade

Yes.always worth the effort. Women have important stories to tell.

  18. It is always worth the effort…
