Detail from a painting, Prescott Public Library, Prescott, Arizona

An old man and his burro
Are heading for the hills.
They hope to find some nuggets
Among the rocks and rills,
Some nuggets gold and gleaming
To make the old man rich.
The burro doesn’t care much—
He’d rather balk and bitch.
