Hearing a blackbird
call from the distant mountain,
I fall to my knees.

  1. Pretty shot. I like following these desert washes to see where they lead!

  2. I can imagine how magical that must have been .

  3. Great pairing of image and verse. I had never heard of Anza-Borreg Desert State Park but now days I see a lot about it. I’m about to add it to my bucket list.

  4. Beautiful poem and rustic image

  5. It’s good to hear a blackbird sing in your corner of the world too, it’s lovely to see pics of the desert again also. I missed it and hope to stop by/join in on Haiku my Heart more often. Big hug from the Zeeland-coastline in the Netherlands!

  6. I heard that blackbird call as well. Hope that you didn’t injure yourself when you fell.

It does sort of sound like an accidental fall, doesn’t it? Maybe I should have said “drop to my knees” or “kneel down”?
