Broken saguaro,
how long will you keep standing
before I break too?

  1. I forget some days… that I will return to this earth, or a part of me does while the rest of me flies… in this tree’s brokenness, I see another creature looking back at me, and wonder if it is broken? or if it is transformed and I’m seeing anew for the first time…

  2. Amazing photo and contemplative haiku ~

    Happy Day to you,
    A ShutterBug Explores

  3. Ow, you won’t break. 🙂

  4. This will probably stand longer than any of us. Look how beautiful it is, the natural art carving of Mother Nature. Thanks for sharing this awesome beauty.

  5. That old saguaro probably has some stories it could tell about days gone by. Beautiful photo!

  6. It is probably still being used as a cactus hotel. Long may it stand.

  7. I love saguaros, they are such an unlikely plant, and as near as I can tell mostly water, in the middle of the desert. That is why the dead ones are so sad.

  8. Decay makes us pause and think… but it can look beautiful as well isn’t it?!

  9. Ein großartige Stück Natur.
Sie sien stärker als wir je sein werden.
    Ein beeindruckendes Haiku.

  10. Looks like a compound fracture. – Margy

  11. How fragile is our human nature. We too will decay. Such an awesome reminder of our mortality

    Happy Sunday MMT
