Not Enough Money

Not enough money, yes, this is the song
I sing at daybreak and sing all day long.

Not enough money to travel to France,
Not enough money for sweaters or pants;

Not enough money for coffee or tea,
Not enough money for sailing the sea.

But laughter is free, so I laugh a lot.
As for more money, I don’t give a jot!

  1. Money and greed are killing us, I’d keep away from it but can’t afford to!

  2. Perfectly sensible attitude to money! There are things far more important!

  3. I wish I didn’t care, starting when I was much younger. What a fine free spirit poem!

  4. Lisa at Greenbow

    It is a good thing to feel this way since you are retired. 🙂

  5. Gotta luv the contentment in your poem

    Have a nice day

    Much💛love

  6. well, it certain helps to pay the most basic of bills, yes? LOL – now, I have this image of a naked person skipping along, calling out this poem – which, I have to say, is a delightful image, even for no sweater or pants! LOL … I like the sense of freedom, the knowledge, of “oh well” … and isn’t it true, you can’t take it with when you go anyhow? 😉

    fun write 🙂

  7. Glad to see you have your priorities straight! Delightful little ditty.
