Tree Hugger

Student artwork at a Yuma County, Arizona high school.

A tree-hugging bird is a sight
That’s visible only in light,
For like you and me
The bird in the tree
Finds comfort in sleeping at night.

Nice sketch and of course your poem is perfect with it. I have never thought about a woodpecker being a tree hugger but they are. Another reason why I love them.

  2. So true. Night is so restful. Love the art work.

  3. I love the idea of tree-hugging birds!

  4. Nice one

  5. it’s the magic of daylight hours to be able to observe birdlife at its best…

  6. Here is me thinking I am going to read the work of the new blogger “Tree Hugger” and I find Magical there to surprise me! It is curious isn’t it that we enjoy sleep so much rather than thinking that’s 8 hours wasted with so much to do!

  7. A gem. You take limericks to a new height.

  8. Put a wonderful smile in my heart…
