Blue Monday: Abandoned Motel

Graffiti defaces an abandoned motel north of Flagstaff, Arizona.
Graffiti mars the old hotel,
It’s feeling rather blue.
Is there some way to cheer it up?
I don’t know, do you?

deepening autumn—
the longing of broken things
to be whole again

Glad to see your photos are back! I wonder if Mrs Bates’ remains are lurking hidden somewhere in that old motel? 😉
When I saw this blue Monday post it reminded me that I have something to add. No old hotel just our old house.
Not marred by graffiti, I hope!

No graffiti here but I do tend to hang stuff on the walls. To some it is a bit much.
Made me think of the velveteen rabbit . . .
Love that kind of longing, in the haiku.
The quatrain’s good, but the haiku is mind-numbingly great! Well done.
Ooooohhhhhhhh, the longing of broken things to be whole again. How beautiful!
Ah the ennui in your Autumn haiku
Happy Wednesday
Much✏love
I like the whole post .. and particularly the haiku.
A very beautiful composition and one could really feel, how broken things want to be whole again……
MMT,
Both wonderful variations of the prompt options…I’m longing for the return of spring and its newness…no more broken things:)
So many abandoned buildings and dwellings..I guess there is a longing to see a new revival, to replace the emptiness..
It looks like one my family would have stayed in back in the day.
The blue hotel complements the blue sky, and the graffiti feels like an intruder.
There is something so sad about and abandoned building. Oh, that they could be used again! Wonderful post!
That longing for wholeness… I can see the people passing through the door… a celebration with lights and food and good cheer and the house is whole, again.
Lots of stories hiding in this old Motel. Have a nice weekend.
I love old, abandoned buildings, ‘blue motel’… just lovely (and it reminds me of the song “Blue motel room” by Joni Mitchel..)
the longing of broken things
to be whole again
your words struck my heart to the very core. thank you!
