Blue Monday & Ruby Tuesday Too: Banderas

A street is festooned with blue banderas in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, México.
On the pavement, in the shade,
People strolling unafraid
Look up at the bright blue sky:
“Sad,” they say, “there is no pie.”

I love this photo – it’s wonderfully composed and the colours are soft and soothing.
PS: Thanks for hosting!
Colorful Banderas make everything look so pretty and festive!
Love the poem too. I would take a piece of that pie right now if I had one.
But, but, but…there is no pie! 🙂

What!?! No pie?!? That’s it. I’m never coming back here.
This post may well well bring back the use of the expression “Pie in the sky” which seems to have lost it’s popularity.
Some hope in these gloomy times though!
Certainly no pie in the sky for the past few months! A fun rhyme.
We are missing way too much of everything today … rhyme and message are great! Cheers to you.
I agree with Beverly! A most timely and evocative write 🙂
I love this…and the double meaning there. Trump’s advisers should read this…and ponder on it.
Yes, no pie in the sky. You’ve captured our current tragedies in so few lines.
Be happy with what you have. Who needs pie when you have a blue sky!?
the banderas are very attractive
No pie in the sky, and sadly a lack of wisdom on the ground.
cool, like the verses as well.
You got major blues in this shot. Love it.
No pie? Perhaps another day.
